As an independent tutor, I’m free from rigid curricula and one-size-fits-all programmes, which means whether I’m working with a young beginner or an experienced learner, every lesson is built around what matters most: the person in front of me.
What I Do, Why?
I’m Victoria, a French tutor with over 5 years of experience working with learners of all ages – from young children taking their first steps with French, to those navigating the transition into secondary school, teenagers working towards their GCSEs and adults returning to French after years away from it.
I offer flexible online lessons of 30 minutes to one hour, built entirely around each student — whatever the level, whatever the goal, whatever the learning style. No racing through a syllabus, no getting lost in a crowded classroom. Just French, taught the way I believe it is meant to be: with patience, purpose and plenty of encouragement.
I also offer activity packs and pre-recorded lesson bundles — a brilliant revision companion to lessons, a focused resource for particular topics, and a flexible way to keep learning even during a busier week. For younger learners, I also have a range of fun activity packs designed to make those first steps with French as playful and enjoyable as possible.
It’s so easy in a classroom to get swept along without really grasping what’s being taught. A hand goes up, but the class has already moved on. That moment, repeated enough times, is where confidence quietly starts to slip.
I started tutoring because I believe every learner deserves the time and space to actually get it — not just keep up.
I also believe that French, learned the right way, gives young people so much more than a language. It builds real confidence, a sense of achievement and a determination that carries far beyond the classroom. And it’s never too late to find that — whether you’re seven or ninety seven.

In August 2024, we were looking for French tutoring for our girls, then aged 10 and 5, when a friend recommended Victoria to us.
Our oldest daughter had attended French Club at school for a few years, but our youngest was a complete beginner, and we weren’t sure how she would interact with or respond to online lessons.
In the lead-up to their first lesson, in September 2024, Victoria asked about their hobbies and interests and since then every lesson has been fun, interactive and tailored to their individual interests.

Our youngest, M, loves arts and crafts, so Victoria would often include a drawing challenge linked to the lesson. As soon as we got home from school, M would run upstairs to get her paper and colouring pencils and would be so excited to see what they would be learning and drawing that week!
Our oldest, N, connected with Victoria from the very first session through their shared experiences of primary and now secondary school. Her lessons often include fun and educational French online games. N loves learning French and, thanks to Victoria, she finds her French lessons at school easy and is now more confident speaking in front of her classmates.
Victoria is kind, patient, caring and very encouraging. She makes sure that the girls’ ideas are heard and included in their lessons, and encourages them to be creative and confident when putting their ideas into sentences and talking about them in French. She listens to them with genuine interest, corrects them with kindness, and challenges them to take their knowledge a step further each time, always in a very supportive manner.
We love how the girls’ individual lessons, even when they cover similar subjects, are tailored differently based on their personalities, ages and levels of knowledge, while always remaining fun, engaging and evolving as they grow older.
